To become licensed to perform interstate (long distance) moving, movers must be registered with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) within the U.S Department of Transportation. The FMCSA requires movers to carry certain insurances and have in place certain procedures to ensure consumer protection. Make sure your mover’s operation authority is active.
