StarCity Guides You Through Every Step of Your NY Move

At StarCity, we are all about diligent planning, meticulous execution and persistent follow up. Our goal is to make your move as comfortable and stress-free an experience possible. From your initial contact with us to the last furniture item delivered to your new place, we are dedicated to provide you with supportive and individualized attention. StarCity’s moving process boils down to the following:

Pre-Move Preparation

  1. Your initial point of contact at StarCity is your NY moving coordinator. He/she will devote themselves to provide you with valuable feedback and make sure to promptly answer any questions you may have. Your coordinator will also:

    • Prepare a detailed inventory list
    • Devise a logistical moving plan
    • Help you schedule a moving day

  2. If necessary, a StarCity in-home estimator will visit your residence. The in-home estimator will carefully assess your belongings to come up with a more exact inventory list. He/she will also examine the physical condition of your possessions to try to determine any pre-existing damages. The estimator will seek to determine whether any items will require special packing and/or handling. Finally, he/she will hand you out a booklet detailing your rights and responsibilities as mandated by the Federal Motor Carrier Administration (FMCSA) for interstate moves and applicable state’s department of transportation for local moves.

  3. Receive binding estimate and order for service form (along with associated inventory list). You should receive a binding estimate and order for service form from StarCity within 48 hours of your in-home moving estimate. It is in your best interest to review the forms carefully and send them back signed once you’re ready to proceed.

  4. Once StarCity receives the signed moving forms, your coordinator will reserve your moving date, truck and crew.

Moving Logistics and Planning

  1. StarCity’s planning department will start to diligently plan your move. A moving planner will assess the logistics of your relocation and anticipate how to meet any potential challenges.
  2. Moving boxes and supplies will be delivered. StarCitywill deliver any moving boxes, moving kits etc you’ve ordered from our moving supply store.
  3. Your StarCity Moving Coordinator will make a final confirmation call. He/she wil confirm all the details pertaining to your move, including any changes in inventory and whether or not any aditional services will be needed prior to your reloaction.

Moving Day

  1. Our dispatch center will call or SMS text message you to let you know the crew is on their way.
  2. A StarCity Team Leader will make sure that every step of your move is executed as well as possible. Feel free to address any questions or concerns you may have to your team leader. StarCity is all about meeting your needs, so don’t be shy!

Follow Up

  1. Your moving coordinator will contact you to receive your feedback, paying particular attention to suggestions for improvement.
  2. Your coordinator or our customer service department is available to answer any questions you may have.
